STICHTING "KINDERHULP INDIA"

DOKTER IN RAIKIA

Raikia, January 2012

Dear benefactors,

Greetings from all the staff of St. Catherine’s Health Centre, Raikia. May everything go well with you and your dear ones in the new year and always.

As I write this letter my heart is full of gratitude to you for all your help and support to us during all the past years, and continuing helping us for the salary of the doctor.

During the year 2011 as many as 10130 patients were treated in the health centre out of which 150 were T. B. patients and 850 malaria cases including cerebral malaria. Other diseases treated were anemia, acute bronchitis , infective ulcer, entric fever, burnt cases and intestinal disorders. The doctor did about 20 operations such as cystoctomy, hydrocelectomy and simple mastectomy. Patients who are in need of long treatment stay in the health centre until their treatment is over.
The doctor is efficient and keeps good rapport with the staff and the patients. Two trained Nurse Sisters see to the day to day running of the Health Centre. There are two paramedicals too to help in the medical work of the health centre.

Once more offering our heart felt thanks to you and keeping you in our humble prayers, I remain.

With warm regards,
Sr. Pauline D. C.
